Buttermilk powder is dehydrated sweet cream, has tangy butter milk flavor. It will produce the same texture, taste and creaminess in baked goods as cultured buttermilk. It is superior to the liquid form since it has a long shelf life and doesn't require refrigeration. Comes in handy when making pancakes, muffins, cornbread, battered fried foods.
1 cup of water to 1/4 cup (4Tbsp) buttermilk powder makes 1 cup buttermilk.
