Short grain brown rice is a natural whole short grain rice, almost round & plum rice with the outer hull removed, leaving the nutrient-packed bran and germ.

Short grain brown rice cooks up soft and tender, and is known for sticking together and has a rich, nutty flavor and satisfying texture.

Cooking Instructions for plain rice:

  1. In a sauce pan add 1¾ cups of water or broth / Cup rice, salt to taste, 1Tbsp butter (if desired).

  2. Bring to a soft boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 35-40 minutes.

  3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.

  4. Fluff with fork and ready to serve rice alone.

One cup of rice will yield: 2 ½ cups of cooked rice.
